Do you like to read romance novels? Wouldn’t you like to know more about your favorite authors? Well you came to the right place! Join the writers of Romance Weekly as we go behind the scenes of our books and tell all….. About our writing of course! Every week we’ll answer questions and after you’ve enjoyed the blog on this site we’ll direct you to another. So come back often for a thrilling ride! Tell your friends and feel free to ask us questions in the comment box. This week’s questions come from the amazing Fiona Riplee.

  • Does humor help or hinder you in your creative process?

  • It absolutely helps. I believe that humor is such an important part of life. A good sense of humor can help you deal with just about anything. It is important not to take yourself or the ups and downs of the writing industry too seriously. I like to infuse a little humor into my stories especially with my romantic heroes. A handsome man with a self-deprecating sense of humor is so sexy in my opinion.

  • What is a favorite go-to book or movie you use to unblock a problem in your writing?

  • It really depends upon my mood and what kind of scene I’m trying to write. The Notebook, The Wedding Date, and Moonstruck are some of my favorite romantic movies. I can watch them over and over and draw something different from them every time. As for books, the list is endless. I really love Cherrie Lynn, Samantha Young, and Megan Hart to name just a few. I like their voices, the tone of the stories, and the unique settings. I can and have read their books multiple times.

  • What’s the most inspiring book you’ve read this week or month that’s generated a new idea?

  • I really enjoyed Lost in Me by Lexi Ryan. She has a way of pulling the reader into the story and making the characters come alive. I read this book several times – the first time for pure enjoyment – and the other times to study her technique. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Well, that’s it for this week. Those were some great questions. Thanks, Fiona! Be sure to sign up for my newsletter before you go. Each month I will be giving away an Amazon gift card to one lucky subscriber as well as sneak peeks and cover reveals for my next releases. Now on to the next stop on our hop – Lanora Mangano, author of the Emergency Call series, who has one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever seen.

Thanks again and happy Tuesday!

I haven’t watched Moonstruck in such a long time. It’s a great movie. I’m gonna have to find it now to watch. My writing goals are going to go down the toilet this week. πŸ™‚

I trust your judgment based on the movies you like, so you’ve given me more books for my TBR list. Thanks! Nice post.
