I really enjoyed my visit to San Antonio last week. I broke an eight month “dry spell” and had my first cocktail since Thanksgiving. Margaritas were everywhere and I just couldn’t resist. My favorite was the raspberry margarita that I got on the first night. It tasted great and kicked me in the butt later! I had a second margarita a few nights later at the Iron Grill along with grilled vegetable enchiladas, freshly made white corn tortilla chips, and guacamole made fresh at our table. At the hotel I tried a Texas Peach Cosmo with a chili lime salted rim. It was okay but a little too sweet for me. My final cocktail was a glass of merlot at Michellino’s along with a plate of farfalle con pollo e gorgonzola which was bowtie pasta with chicken, carrots, sundried tomatoes and a gorgonzola sauce. Both were out of this world. If you get a chance to visit San Antonio, be sure to check out both of these wonderful places located on the Riverwalk.
