When writing your novel, do you know how it’s going to end before you write, or do you write from start to finish?
I am terrible when it comes to this! My writing process is like a blender without a top – messy, disorganized, and all over the place. I write whatever scenes come to mind without any regard to order or plot. Somewhere in the back of my mind I have an idea of where the story is going but often the ending is as much a surprise to me as anyone else. In Intoxicated, I was surprised to learn about Jack’s connection with Chelsea. It just flowed out the tips of my fingers and onto the page without warning. Those unexpected surprises are what I enjoy most about writing.
How do the people you know impact your writing? Are you influenced by friends and family for your characters?
Everyone I know influences my writing in one way or another. Sometimes I will see a person gesture or speak in a manner that strikes my imagination, and I will have to write that trait into my latest character. All of my friends and family are paranoid about this. They constantly ask me if I modeled a character after them. And my answer to that is, “I will never tell.”
Describe the hero in your current WIP in three words.
The hero of my current WIP is Randy McKenzie. I can sum him up in these three words: intense, wounded, sensitive.
Thanks for stopping by! Please hop on over to Jo Richardson for her answers this week.

I’m with you on loving the unexpected surprises. It’s amazing what the subconscious can conjure.

People are a little sensitive to being written into stories, aren’t they? Like you, I’ll never tell!

LOL, Blender without a top!!! I love that image (and also somewhat resemble it). ♥

See, and I have often been criticized for the occasional morning smoothie without a lid on top – but it still tastes amazing!

Oh, I’m so impressed. I can’t imagine writing out of sequence that way. I’d be pulling my hair out, and there really isn’t enough of it to do that!

Your secret is safe with me. My plotter head is buzzing at your process

I tired the blender approach and it was definitely messy 🙂 But it still works out in the end, doesn’t it?

Sometimes the best stories are a surprise to the author writing them as well as the reader 😀
