This week we’re talking about our favorite holiday recipes. I’ve just come off of an eight month diet, and right now, every recipe is my favorite! I have to say one particular dish stands out for me. It’s my aunt’s smoked sausage stuffing. I had it last year for the first time, and it was delicious. The blend of savory stuffing with the smoky pork sent my taste buds into a state of bliss.
1 lb ground pork sausage
1 package smoked sausage links cut into cubes
1 box of Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix (I like cornbread)
1 large onion – chopped
1 cup celery – chopped
1 stick of butter
3 cups of turkey broth (more or less depending on how you like it)
Brown the sausage, sauté the onions and celery, and combine with the other ingredients in a buttered 9X13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.
You really can’t mess this up, and you’ll be surprised at how good it is. I can’t wait to try it out again this year.
Well, that’s it for this week. Please take a minute to hop over to the next stop on our tour and visit with my friend J.J. Devine.

I’ve always wondered how to make this! Thanks for sharing.

Mine is similar, but I add apples to give it a crispness

Oh gosh- I’m going to have to try this. But I’ll be substituting turkey sausage and adding apples and zucchini. I love to tinker with recipes that way.

Cool, Jeana! It sounds a bit cajun-ish!
