There is only one question this week and here it is…

What are your top 10 romances of all time?

  1. Gone With The Wind – I read this book for the first time when I was in sixth grade and I have re-read it a hundred times since.
  2. Outlander – This series gave me the worst book hangover of my life and six years later, I’m still reading the series.
  3. Dragonfly in Amber – What can I say? Jamie Fraser is “the man”. I can’t wait for the Starz series.
  4. Voyager – When Claire travels back in time again to find Jamie and they meet…it still brings tears to my eyes.
  5. The Time Traveler’s Wife – This book gave me the second worst book hangover. It’s the perfect mix of angst and romance.
  6. Wuthering Heights – Heathcliff is the ultimate bad boy and the setting of the windswept moors still piques my imagination.
  7. Pride & Prejudice – Elizabeth Bennett’s struggles with love and family are timeless.
  8. Sense & Sensibility – Another period romance that is timeless and captivating
  9. The Notebook – I liked the movie better than the book, but both are noteworthy.
  10. A Knight in Shining Armor – I didn’t want to like this book. I thought it would be another “bodice-ripper”, but I was hooked by the end of the first chapter and read the whole thing in one sitting. I’m a sucker for time travel.

I have to add that Gone With The Wind, the first three books of the Outlander series, or The Time Traveler’s Wife swap places on my list of favorites depending on the day or my mood. The atmosphere of each one is unique and compelling, the characters are complicated and flawed, and the authors drew me into their worlds and made their stories a part of my life.

Don’t forget…Our blog is six months old on July 29th. To celebrate our first milestone, the authors of Romance Weekly are wanting to give back some of the love. We have some incredible prizes on offer. They will all be drawn live, by the contributing authors, with a whole hoard of tidbits, excerpts and good stuff.
