I’ve decided to try something new and fun with my writing. For the last four or five years, I’ve been working on a time travel adventure series. While I enjoy writing contemporary romance, I have always had a thing for time travel, ever since I read H.G. Wells’ Time Machine back in the sixth grade.
For whatever reason, I just can’t get away from this story. It plagues me in the middle of the night, keeps me up at all hours, and begs to to be told. So I’ve decided to share a little bit of it each week and open it up to review and comment by the readers. I thought it would be fun to get input from the readers and to allow them to share in the growth of the story.
I plan to have four books in the series, Like Fire, Like Air, Like Water, Like Earth and publish them as a box set when they are done.
I have started a Like Fire page on this website where I will post the excerpts each week.
The story revolves around Lyric, a girl with a genetic penchant for time travel. As she wanders through the centuries she finds herself in an ancient world that existed long before recorded history. A handsome barbarian named Ailig rescues her from sacrifice by a savage clan. The attraction between them is undeniable, but torn apart by time and space, Lyric is certain that she will never see Ailig again. Little does she know that he has a plan to bring them back together, one that will cost him his immortal soul.
